Congratulations to Duncan Winning Duncan has recently been voted in as a Vice President of the BCU. Below is a section of the letter informing him of the post. The club would like to take this opportunity on congratulating him on his post which he adds to his Honorary Presidency of the SCA and his OBE. We hope that he remembers us lowly paddlers............... "17th March 2009 I am delighted to inform you that at the 2009 British Canoe Union Annual General Meeting, you were nominated, and accepted, to become a Vice President of the BCU, should you wish to accept. Vice Presidency is the highest award given by the BCU and is bestowed upon those who have demonstrated a life-long commitment and dedication to our sport, and who have provided significant service to the Union. The role is very much an honorary position with no specific rights or obligations. Vice Presidents will be asked to attend the occasional function, and be aware that their names may be used on some BCU paperwork etc. The number of Honorary Vice Presidents will normally be in the range of 5-10. I do hope very much that you will accept this position and look forward to welcoming you on board. I would be most grateful if you could let me know your decision at your earliest convenience. Paul Owen Chief Executive"
